The Tale Of Three Trees

A man was walking in a garden when he saw a tall tree reaching sky crying. He asked "Oh Tall tree why are you crying ? you should be happy you are so tall you are reaching dizzy heights ??" "I'm tall Ok but see the tree spread all around giving so much shade.providing shelter to passerby and birds from all over the place.I don't have its qualities" The Tall tree told reason of its sorrow.

The Man went to the broad tree with ample shade only to find it weeping as well "Ohh Tree with pleasant shade why do you cry? you should be happy with so many people taking shelter in your shade ,so many birds building nests amidst your branches ,everyone singing songs of your praise !!!" "All that you say is true Sir.But I am not complete I can't bear no fruits and if I am not productive what is the use of being just shade provider vast tree?" Lamented the tree.

Somewhere in the corner of the park was a wild tree swaying gleefully with wind...whistling tunes of songs that it learnt from the wind the sun the clouds and it was glowing in its own happiness. The Man approached the Wild tree and asked "all around I see the tall tree ,the tree with shadow, the tree with fruits all unhappy ,it makes me wonder oh wild tree what is the secret of your happiness?". "I'm not tall I don't provide any shade or fruits.I'm aware of all that, but I also know there must be some reason why the gardener planted me in this corner ,nurtured me with same care intensity as the other trees here.So I'm just happy of fulfilling that reason for which I was planted.that I'm here is the reason for my happiness" said the wild tree as it continued sway with the wild breeze

PS: This story was told to me by an elderly uncle @ the Vipassana workshop on the final day when the Noble silence was broken and while we were sharing our experience at the camp.

The Three P's @ Experiential Level

Last year I had read a book 100 Guitar Tips You Should Have Been Told by David Mead where David had stressed three P's for every aspiring Guitarist
Patience Persistence Practice. And Intellect of mind agreed "Ahh so very wonderful....this is what I say always.this is what every one should know ...."

Well saying and throwing statements like these in regular conversations or while making statements on any & every matter one deals is so very simple. But to experience these every day and every moment in addition to Mindfulness,Awareness of Sensations, Annicha (immpermance),and equanimity was what I learnt at 10 day Vipassana workshop.

The journey has just begin how much of the above said qualities I understand at experiential level and how much of these permeate in my daily life Only time will tell.
